Obama has 3rd worst approval ratings since WWII

August 28th, 2009 OAL No comments

I have seen liberals on the internet defend Obama’s poor numbers as still better than when Bush left office. Talk about apples and orangutans. Here is an apples-to-apples analysis:

Slipping below 50% before November of the first year in office would represent “the third-fastest drop” since World War II, Gallup reports. Republican Gerald Ford slipped below 50% in his third month as president, Democrat Bill Clinton during his fourth month.

It took Republican President Eisenhower five years to fall below 50% in the public’s eye, Gallup notes. It took both Republican George Bushes about three years. It took Democrat Lyndon Johnson and Republican Richard Nixon more than two years. (Hotair.com)

That’s right. The incompetent, bumbling, illiterate George W. Bush took 3 years to drop below 50% approval, while Obama is on pace for 7 or 8 months. Yes, you can argue that any President will look good right after an attack on this country where they do anything in retaliation, but don’t go around bragging about Obama’s great poll numbers. Bush had a terrorist attack on this nation, and could have handled it in a way that would have been devastating to America’s opinion of him, but he excelled. Obama has an economic disaster on his hands, and he is failing miserably.

Obama’s poll numbers are tanking, faster than any President since the second world war except Clinton and Ford.

Cindy Sheehan protesting Obama’s war

August 28th, 2009 OAL No comments

I respect consistency… to a point. It is easy to criticize Cindy Sheehan, and she should be criticized. She blames everyone else for the russian roulette her son played by signing up for the military voluntarily. While I have serious issues with the way our military handles the rules of engagement, and I have sympathy for the loss she has suffered, Sheehan’s anti-war protests have been over-the-top.

With that being said, she followed President Obama to Martha’s Vineyard to continue protesting war in the Middle East (Breitbart.com). While Moveon.org and the DailyKos and MSNBC have suddenly become not-so-anti-war in the wake of Obama’s election, Cindy Sheehan remains consistent, protesting Republican and Democrat alike.

I respect that. I respect it like I respect the religious nutbars who go to military funerals holding signs that say “God killed your son because of homosexuals.” I respect the consistency, not the behavior. The behavior is disgusting, horrific nonsense that should not be allowed to take place near a funeral, but it is consistent. Some Americans are breaking the rules of their religion, and they believe God is punishing American military for it. Within their universe, that makes sense. I can’t stand liberal Catholics who support abortion. Not because of any stance I have on abortion, but because they pick and choose which parts of their religion to follow. If you wanna sign up for their club, you follow all the rules, not some. Again, the funeral protesters are revolting to me… I am not complimenting their disrespectful, disgusting behavior. I would be hard-pressed not to be arrested if I ever crossed paths with them, but there is something to be said for their consistency.

So, I applaud Cindy Sheehan for having the backbone to continue her quest, as misguided as it is, despite the White House being occupied by a member of a different political party. She has probably lost many a liberal friend over it.

Fake doctor supports Obamacare

August 14th, 2009 OAL No comments

For those unfamiliar, astroturfing is the practice of making something look like a grass roots movement when it is really not. Pelosi and other Democrats have been calling the strong emotions expressed at Obamacare town halls “astroturfing,” implying the passion has been driven by special interests like insurance companies.

While these Democrats and their numerous friends in the media have not been able to prove one single instance of astroturfing, it has been discovered at one town hall meeting.

At Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s townhall meeting in Houston, Dr. Roxana Mayer got up and expressed her support of Obamacare…

“We are… like… so poor, almost nonexistent at treating preventative care. I know because I’m a general practitioner. We are a dying breed.” (see video)

If you’re asking how a doctor could possibly throw the word “like” into the middle of a sentence as if she was on the set of an MTV show, I understand. It turns out Roxana Mayer is not a doctor. She’s an Obama delegate who is a grad student studying social work.

So all the passion, all the yelling, all the “mobs” at town hall meeting that Democrats are sure can’t be real grass roots, and the first proven example of astroturfing is a fake doctor who supports Obama. Its breathtaking the shamelessness of the left.

HOPE artist insults Obama/Joker artist

August 12th, 2009 OAL No comments

Shepard Fairey is the artist who created the famous red and blue poster of Obama that says HOPE at the bottom. He was asked recently about the now infamous joker Obama poster that says socialism at the bottom…

“I have my doubts about the person’s intelligence,” Fairey said on the phone from Pittsburgh. “It’s not grammatically correct. It would be ’socialist’ … Obama is not Marx. He didn’t create socialism.”

Semantics aside, “I don’t agree with the political content of the poster,” Fairey said. “They don’t realize that Medicaid is a socialist program.” The federal Medicaid program, of course, predates the current administration by several decades. (LA Times)

I just love that someone would doubt the intelligence of the artist and then proceed to state things that cast doubt about his own intelligence. In Shepard Fairey’s fantasy world, the fact that forms of socialism already exist in America means that Obama is not a socialist. Fairey is assuming because the joker poster has socialism written at the bottom, the artist must not be aware that Medicaid is a socialist program. To understand Fairey’s logic, allow me to illustrate.

If Barack Obama were to have sex with a White House intern, it would not actually be sex, because Bill Clinton already did that.

Perhaps Mr. Fairey is trying to lure the anonymous artist out. Its hard to tell, with piercing insults like “It’s not grammatically correct.” Hey Fairey, since putting a word at the bottom of a poster, in your mind, means the artist is calling that person that word, you must of screwed up with your HOPE poster. Obama didn’t invent hope, after all.

Liberal columnist urges readers to “fight dirty” on health care reform

August 10th, 2009 OAL No comments

I have a quote that sums up the liberal/progressive/socialist position on universal healthcare:

When it comes to health care, appealing to the public’s sympathy is a dead end. The whole health-care debate is precisely about avoiding responsibility for less fortunate citizens. (Dan Neil, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

SOOO illustrative of their mindset… let’s look at this piece by piece…

“appealing to the public’s sympathy is a dead end”

The author is talking about the government running health care because the insurance industry is an “ongoing criminal syndicate… that demands protection money from sick people.” He is essentially saying the politicians can’t appeal to the public to pass health care reform; the public has to be forced to do it.

“avoiding responsibility for less fortunate citizens”

Dan Neil does not have a clue, nor a concern, for the concept of freedom. He believes less fortunate citizens are my responsibility and your responsibility. What kind of un-American nonsense is that? If I am forced to do something, that isn’t sacrifice. That isn’t “taking responsibility.” Its FASCISM. I think its great that people support less fortunate citizens, but it sure as shit aint my “responsibility.” Wealth redistribution, for any reason, is not my responsibility.

He continues the article, never actually addressing the criticisms of government health care reform, addressing ads that oppose the attacks on Obamacare…

The ad then lights into Cigna Corp. CEO Ed Hanway, who is retiring with a $73 million golden parachute. The GOP’s prescription for the health-care crisis? “Be as rich as Ed and you’ll be happy, too.”

Of course it’s disingenuous. Executive compensation at insurance companies is at best peripheral to escalating health-care costs. For all we know, Mr. Hanway may be one of the good guys.

The important thing is that the ad hominem ad is pointed, shrewd and manipulative. And yes, it’s class warfare. But then again, this is war.

We have reached the point that the liberals are actually admitting they lie in order to get others to lie in order to get Obamacare, in spite of the wishes of the electorate. They will lie about the details of the bill. They will lie about the motives of their opponents.

Birthers vs Truthers

August 7th, 2009 OAL No comments

28% of Republicans (according to the Daily Kos) think Obama was born outside the United States and some say that makes the Republican party crazy.

35% of Democrats thought Bush knew about 9/11 beforehand.

Wow.

First proud racist to become supreme court justice in a long time

August 6th, 2009 OAL No comments

“WASHINGTON (AP) - The Senate confirmed Sonia Sotomayor Thursday as the first Hispanic justice on the Supreme Court.” I expected this of the Democrats but you can see a list of the Republicans who voted for her here.

This woman is a certified racist that thinks her ethnicity makes her a better judge than a white judge. You Hispanics and Puerto Ricans out there that are “proud” for this day need to take a hard look at why you feel more familial with a racist Latina than you do with a color-blind white person. Is ethnicity such a strong uniter that you associate more with a racist with similar skin pigment than you do with a non-racist with different skin pigment? Same goes for American blacks who are proud of this day. Its like “Anything-but-white Appreciation Day.”

There might be a sparse few who actually know the judicial record of this woman and support her for that. While I disagree with them, at least they know what they’re talking about.

Identity politics

Unfortunately the vast majority of people fall under two categories: those who support anything Barack Obama does for racial or political reasons, and those that support any non-white who is given power in any arena in the name of “diversity.” I guess the hundreds of thousands of white people who died in the civil war for racial equality died for NOTHING. Nothing. Those two groups I named are pissing on their graves.

I found her nomination disgusting. I find her confirmation depressing. There is no question she has an impressive resume in the judicial arena, and Michael Vick is a really good football player. There is more to a job that a resume, and there aren’t many jobs where that is more true than one of the 9 Supreme Court Justices of the United friggin States. Lady Justice has lost her blindfold on the Supreme Court. Racism is officially under new management.

The epic stupidity of Euna Lee and Laura Ling

August 5th, 2009 OAL No comments

Here in America, citizens and journalists truly take their freedom for granted. We have so much freedom that we have shows like Law and Order that shine a light on the ways that criminals in this country exploit it to get away with crimes.

In a breath-taking display of America-centric ignorance, Euna Lee and Laura Ling, reporters at Al Gore’s Current TV, decided they would go to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which is a complicated propagandistic way of saying dictatorship, to apparently investigate humanitarian crimes in North Korea. After being convicted and sentenced to over 10 years of hard labor, Bill Clinton went to North Korea and negotiated their release. It has been popular in the news to celebrate the return of these two reporters. I will not join the blind hype.

Noble my ass

These two idealists thought it was noble of them to sneak into a authoritarian nation and try to exercise their press freedoms in a country that does not recognize such freedoms. They could have gotten themselves killed, and certainly didn’t help the relations between North Korea and the U.S. If any executives at Current TV knew of this trip, they should be fired immediately.

The second part of this story that should make everyone angry is the former President Bill Clinton using valuable political capital to persuade Kim Jong Il to release these journalists. If you think there’s a chance in hell that Bill Clinton would have made this trip for Fox News journalists, you might need someone to handle your affairs for the rest of your life. He went there solely because of liberal media pressure, pressure from his former V.P Al Gore, and any friends and peers of these two idiots.

I hope that at the very least, their short-lived sentences are enough of a deterrent to other idealist journalists who think it is noble to pull nonsense like this. I doubt these two morons will use the opportunity to warn others, but I look forward to praising them if they do.

Let this be a lesson to all of you who think America is a criminal in the eyes of the world or according to some vague impression of humanitarianism. You don’t have a clue how great you have it here. The notion of a prisoner having more power than the guards is almost entirely unique to America.

These two were lucky they were employed by Al Gore. Otherwise, they’d be pounding rocks in North Korean shithole for the next decade. DON’T go to countries like North Korea and Iran because you think its the right thing to do. You may never come back.
