If I could be dictator of the United States for a week…
TSA - Gone. Security at airports is silly. You eliminate the kamikaze threat by arming the pilots and securing the cockpit. Once that is done, extra protection for the passengers of the plane is irrational. A bomb can be set off in other, more populated places, yet we don’t have insane security like we do at the airport. This is due to an overreaction after the attacks of 9/11. Getting on a plane should be the same as getting on a train, or going to a shopping mall. A guy could go to the mall, set a bomb and kill many more people than he can on a plane. Why are plane passengers more valuable?
Minimum wage - Gone. This is simple economics people… not allowing people to work for minimum wage is the same as not letting people sell things for less than the minimum wage. If you say all candy has to cost at least $5, only candy that is worth $5 will be sold. If you won’t allow people to work for less than $5 per hour, only labor that is worth that will be offered. Your compassion for the poor is actually limiting their job opportunities. It is not your place to tell them they can’t offer their services for less than the minimum wage. Ask yourself what happened to the elevator operators?
Taxing the rich more than the poor - Gone. Folks, get this through your head. You can’t take the money of the filthy rich. You can only prevent them from getting filthier rich. When you tax the crap out of yachts, they will just buy less yachts. Does that hurt the rich? Heck no. Who does it hurt? Anybody that makes parts for or constructs yachts. It is the same as if you outlawed hiring help to mow your lawn or fix your plumbing. “It’s not fair that the rich don’t have to do yardwork! The poor can’t afford to hire other people! Let’s screw the rich… make them do their own yardword AND plumbing! That’ll show them!” Well the obvious side-effect is that such a rule would put these professions out of business, thereby NOT hurting the rich, but hurting the plumbers and landscapers.
